CPR with First Aid: Samaritan Healthcare offers two CPR-First Aid
programs, using the American Heart Association and American Safety
& Health Institute curriculum. Both programs meet Labor & Industries
standards and are equally suitable for daycare providers, foster care
providers, and for other job-required training. We offer initial and
renewal classes.
CPR Only (without First Aid): We offer initial and renewal CPR classes
that meet a variety of needs, including:
Heartsaver CPR – Program choices include adult only,
infant/child only, or adult & infant/child. These classes include
practice sessions and testing to receive a CPR certification card.
CPR for Family & Friends – Program choices include adult only,
infant/child only, or adult & infant/child. These classes
include practice sessions. Testing not required.
Healthcare Provider CPR – Initial and renewal classes for those
who are working in or training for the healthcare field.
Childbirth preparation classes are available for expectant mothers and
coaches. We offer two scheduling options:
a 1-day, 8-hour class held on Saturdays
or a 4-week series of 2-hour classes held Thursday evenings
Our childbirth educators include an experienced OB RN and an experienced
EMT, both certified by the Academy of Certified Birth Educators (ACBE).
The program is eligible for Medicaid reimbursement. Other insurance
coverage may apply. Check with your plan to verify coverage.
Our diabetes education program is recognized by the American Diabetes
Association (ADA). We offer:
Group classes for Type 2 patients
Individual sessions for Newly Diagnosed, Type 1, Gestational,
Children, or Type 2 patients with special needs (i.e., language,
hearing, vision, mobility needs).
Instructor team includes a certified diabetes educator and a registered
dietitian. Covered by most insurance plans, including Medicare and
Medicaid. Check with your plan to verify coverage. Or, you may qualify
for Samaritan Healthcare’s financial assistance program. Contact our

This weekly pre-surgery program is FREE and available to patients
(and their caregivers) who are scheduled for total knee or total hip
replacement surgery. We cover the following information:
general overview of the procedure, recovery, and physical therapy
process
important information about preparing your home in advance for your
return
a review of your current medications & helpful take-home videos you
can keep
discharge planning to help you with post-hospital care issues
pre-admission, which will allow you to bypass the admitting process
on the day of your procedure
Free education for Parkinson’s patients available from Northwest Parkinson’s
Foundation and offered at Samaritan by “live” video-conferencing. Speakers are
physicians and other healthcare professionals, addressing topics such as
current medical and surgical options, caregiver training, medication updates,
and so on.
This babysitting preparation program is designed for girls and boys,
ages 11 thru 13. The fun, interactive curriculum was written
by a pediatrician and teaches safe, nurturing childcare techniques.
Our instructors are certified with the Safe Sitter organization.
We offer this program on 2 or 3 dates during the summer months.
