SAMARITAN HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION

Ways to Give

The Samaritan Healthcare Foundation accepts donations that are unrestricted, donations that are restricted to a particular project or program, and donations to our permanent endowment fund. Donations that are unrestricted give the foundation the greatest ability to meet the healthcare needs of our community. Our board of directors meets 6 times a year, reviews funding requests and determines how we can best serve the hospital district.

You can contribute to the Samaritan Healthcare Foundation in several ways. If you have any questions, please call 509.793.9647 or fill out our contact us form.

Online

Cash

By far the most popular way to give, cash gifts can be made outright or pledged over time, by check, cash or credit card.

Appreciated Assets

Long-term investments or appreciated assets can include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or real estate that the donor has held for more than one year. Please contact the Foundation if you are interested in making such a gift at 509.793.9645.

Bequests Through a Will or Trust

Donors make a powerful statement in support of our work when they name the Samaritan Healthcare Foundation as a beneficiary in their will or trust.

Income for Life

For some people, the ability to make a gift today while retaining annual income for the remainder of the donor’s life, or a different period of time, is important.

Planned Giving

Your consideration of a Planned Gift to help in one of our focused areas will allow Samaritan Healthcare to advance to the next level of healthcare excellence. The opportunity to make a powerful statement through a gift that keeps on giving and to receive personal benefits when making that contribution is what Planned Giving is all about.

Charitable gifts can generate substantial federal income and estate tax savings. The question is often whether:

  1. The gift should be completed during your lifetime (enabling present income tax savings), or
  2. The gift should be made at the end of life—a legacy life (enabling future estate tax savings).

Careful estate planning and a well drafted Will can ensure that your assets are entrusted to persons and institutions that are important to you.  The Foundation urges you to work with your attorney or financial advisor when considering a planned gift.

In Kind Contributions

Non-cash gifts, which can include equipment or patient-comfort items, are accepted and can be claimed as a charitable contribution. Please contact the Foundation office to make sure your items are needed.

Time

Giving of your time is greatly appreciated at Samaritan. If you enjoy working with people, learn how you can volunteer at Samaritan and provide a valuable service to the community.
